SECOND GENERATION THRIFT SHOPPE SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR NEW ROCHESTER
LOCATION
GREENLAND, NH – December 28, 2006 –
Second Generation Thrift Shoppe, a non- profit store on Route 33 in
Greenland, is opening a new location in Rochester at 25 Old Dover Road next
week. Store manager Janet Hamilton is now accepting applications for
volunteers, and shoppe staff will begin taking donations beginning January 2nd.
Second Generation in Rochester will sell quality clothing, household goods
and furniture to the surrounding community.
The first thrift shoppe opened in 1993 to raise
operating funds for New Generation Shelter for homeless pregnant and
parenting women and their children. This effort now raises $50,000 annually.
“The seacoast community has been so supportive of our first shoppe that our
decision to expand into a new community was easy,” said Hamilton. Up to 26%
of the shelter’s residents are from Strafford County annually, while the
largest number of women are from Rockingham County.
