LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HOSTS “HAVE A HEART COLLECTION”
Greenland, NH - Thursday, April 04, 2007 – New Generation, Inc. is the recipient of a generous donation of paper products for our shelter as well as a $50 cash donation from the parents of a first grader. Jennifer Mathieson of Lee is the chairperson this year of Mast Way Elementary PTO’s annual Fund Raiser which is “Have a Heart Collection”. A box for set up in each classroom to support this
project. Tucker, age 11, son of Ms. Mathieson helped distribute, collect, load, and unload the boxes which completely filled her vehicle. He would have loved to come to the shelter with her but there was not any room. Thanks to a friend on the Portsmouth Fire Department who introduced the PTO to New Generation. Ms. Mathieson states that the charity varies from year to year. The school wide theme is “community”. Many thanks to the numerous benefactors.
New Generation shelters homeless pregnant and parenting women and their children and has been part of the seacoast’s Continuum of Care for 20 years. The shelter has a transitional apartment, daycare for 18 children, and two thrift shoppes.
