Pizza Factory Saved the
Day for Non-Profit Daycare
Thursday, August 3, 2006
(Greenland, NH)—
Portsmouth Pizza Factory recently saved the day for Next
Generation Daycare, a not-for-profit daycare located in
Greenland, NH, when their only oven, the one in New
Generation Shelter’s kitchen, gave up at last. Upon
reporting the news to the shelter’s daycare, the staff went
into a panic. “All the families have gone home already and
we told the parents not to bring lunch tomorrow. We were
going to make pizzas for pajama day,” said Alicia Cayer,
Preschool Teacher. Portsmouth Pizza Factory at 800 Islington
Street generously offered to donate all the pizza the kids
could eat. The kids and staff loved it, and the staff was
saved the pizza ingredients for another day. New
Generation’s oven is now being replaced with a grant from
Christ Church in Exeter.
Next Generation Daycare &
Preschool is a service of New Generation Shelter, a
not-for-profit homeless shelter in Greenland. The shelter
also serves the public with Second Generation Thrift Shoppe
and Generation Gap Furniture Barn. All proceeds from the
thrift shoppe and barn support the shelter. For more
