Nike Bauer Hockey Grants $5,000 to New
Generation Shelter
Wednesday, July 5, 2006 (Greenland, NH)—
Nike Bauer Hockey Inc. recently granted $5,000 to the not-for-profit New
Generation Shelter to fund operating expenses. Corporate and foundation
grants help New Generation provide shelter, case management, parenting
education, nutrition classes, transportation and aftercare to its
residents.
“Corporate grants are on the
increase which helps shelter programs stay strong,” said Toni Trotzer,
Executive Director. “We teach women to have structure and meet
responsibilities every day. Operating support allows us to keep staff
working one on one with residents, which is critical to their long term
success.”
NIKE Bauer Hockey Inc., based in
Greenland, N.H., is a leading designer and distributor of hockey
equipment and is a wholly owned subsidiary of NIKE, Inc. based in
Beaverton, Oregon. New Generation is a not-for-profit shelter for
homeless pregnant women and mothers with young children. Founded in
1987, the shelter houses up to seven women and their children at a time,
while giving support in a loving environment, teaching parenting
education, self-sufficiency, and life skills. Residents are driven to
housing, health and social service appointments, as well as work, job
interviews and education classes. Other services include Next Generation
Daycare and Preschool, Second Generation Thrift Shoppe and Generation
