For Immediate Release: $12,500 Raised for New Generation Shelter

at WSW Charity Golf Tournament

 

Friday, September 30, 2005 (Greenland, NH)— The 2nd Annual Women Supporting Women Charity Golf Tournament, chaired by Mrs. Beverly Barney of Exeter, raised $12,500 at Breakfast Hill Golf Club September 19th for New Generation Shelter of Greenland. Nineteen all-female teams from as far away as Chicago and Florida played last Monday. Sarah Youngclause Smith and Stephanie Bartlett took first place; Barbara Berman, Pam Hunt, Claire Isenstein, and Deb Somes came in second place; Lynne Smith, Barbara Smith and Denise Sylvester won third place. Closest to the pin contest winners were Carol Christie at 10’9” on hole #6, and Denise Sylvester at 6’7” on hole #14. The longest drive contest winner was Deb Somes.

 

Tournament funds support resident counseling, parenting education, life skills training, transportation and aftercare programs. A silent auction and raffle prizes included rounds of golf  at The LPGA International Course in Daytona Beach, Florida with lodging, Golf at the Ledges, York, Maine, Golf at Cape Neddick Country Club, Maine, Golf at Sagamore Hampton Golf Club, and prizes and gift certificates to

Rejuvenations Professional Massage, Lang’s Landscaping, Mahalos Catering, Putnam’s Ski & Snowboard, The Meat House, Portsmouth Regional Hospital Wellness Connection, Li Yuen Chinese Culinary, Memories Studio, Cookies By Design, Elizabeth Grady Face First, Strawbery Banke Museum, Golf & Ski, Currier Museum of Art, The Exeter Inn, and Proulx Oil.
