New Generation Shelter Celebrates 20 Years at Charity Dinner Auction
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 (Greenland, NH)—New Generation Shelter is gearing up for its Annual Auction to generate operating support for shelter program funding. The Sheraton Harborside Ballroom will hold the event Friday, May 11th at 6PM. Auctioneer Joe Shanley will take bids for a list of items donated by
area businesses and individuals. The auction committee is hoping to raise $40,000 at this year’s event.
“As a part of the Continuum of Care, we are helping women to find housing, create stability, and become self-sufficient,” said Toni Trotzer, Executive Director. “We encourage corporations and retail businesses to participate by underwriting the event, or donating auction items.” Businesses and individuals are asked to call 603-436-4989 or
email fundraising@newgenerationinc.org.
Last year the not-for-profit shelter raised $23,000 auctioning off more than 120 items including: Red Sox Tickets; Patriot’s Tickets; Golf in New Hampshire and Florida; Weekend Getaways; Homemade Pies, gift certificates to area restaurants, health spas, flower shops, unique gift items, and more. Donations will support housing and
educational programs for homeless women and children, and offset the cost of food, heating oil, and transportation.
