Bottomline Technologies Donates
Washing Machine to New Generation Shelter
Tuesday, May 23, 2006 (Greenland,
NH)— All New Generation shelter residents cook meals for
one another and keep on track with a schedule of daily
chores, including laundry. Recently, the shelter clothes
washer stopped working, and an immediate replacement was
needed. Bottomline Technologies of Portsmouth contributed
$500 towards a new Kenmore high-efficiency washing machine
while Sears at the Fox Run Mall picked up the balance of
equipment and delivery costs.
“We are grateful for the new
washing machine from Bottomline and Sears. Their cooperation
helped our eight current residents stay on track. Corporate
investments which help us fulfill our mission are always
welcome, especially when unexpected expenses occur,” said
Toni Trotzer, Executive Director.
New Generation is a not-for-profit
shelter for homeless pregnant women and mothers with young
children. Founded in 1987, the shelter houses up to seven
women and their children at a time, while giving support in
a loving environment, teaching parenting education,
self-sufficiency, and life skills. Residents are driven to
housing, health and social service appointments, as well as
work, job interviews and education classes. Other services
include Next Generation Daycare and Preschool, Second
Generation Thrift Shoppe and Generation Gap Furniture Barn.
All shoppe and barn proceeds support the shelter’s operating
costs. New Generation and its services are located off Rte.
