Save the Date! September 19th is the 2nd Annual Women Supporting Women Golf Tournament

Thursday, June 23, 2005 (Greenland, NH)—The 2nd Annual Women Supporting Women Golf Tournament will be held September 19th to benefit New Generation, Inc., a shelter for homeless pregnant women and mothers with young children. Mrs. Beverly Barney of Exeter, New Hampshire is again chairing the event at Breakfast Hill Golf Club in Greenland.  The entrance fee is $100 per player, and includes a continental breakfast, green fees with cart, elegant ladies’ luncheon in the new clubhouse, raffle prizes, and chances to bid on fantastic auction items.

Breakfast Hill Golf Club is now building a 6500 square foot clubhouse and has doubled the size of its ladies league since last year. To register a team or individual for the tournament, sign up as a corporate sponsor, or make a raffle donation, download the registration form at www.newgennh.com, under Women’s Golf Tournament.

“Last year’s event raised $10,000 to help women in crisis, and I had a great time with new and old friends,” said Mrs. Barney. “Over 60 women came out on a gorgeous day- this year’s tournament will be bigger and better.”

Mrs. Barney volunteered for New Generation for a few years, driving residents to and from health and dental appointments, work, and education classes. She served as Chairperson of the Exeter Area FISH Organization, coordinating transportation for the elderly, and coordinated The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program in the seacoast. As Service and Rehabilitation Chairman she coordinated rides for cancer patients from 11 towns in Rockingham County.

Women-owned businesses are encouraged to advertise their company’s services by sponsoring the event. Planners hope to raise $15,000 with additional teams, sponsorships, and by word of mouth. Proceeds will fund shelter programs including case management, parenting education, life skills training, transportation and aftercare. Volunteers are needed to solicit area businesses for silent auction items and raffle prizes. For more information visit www.newgennh.com or call 603-436-4989.
