  Volunteer Dinner May 18, 2006

Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds came together to the smells of  chicken curry, pad thai, vegetable spring rolls, and sweet and sour stirfry at New Generation Shelter last night. A delicious feast of 15 authentic Thai dishes greeted 40 volunteers, board members, and staff. Chef Sompit Chase of Thailand prepared the feast from scratch with many prep cooks helping. Volunteers were recognized for their work in the shelter, daycare, thrift shoppe and furniture barn with certificates of gratitude and blooming geraniums donated by Carpenter’s Olde English Greenhouse of Newmarket. Outstanding Service awards were given to volunteers: David Duggan of Rye, Dot Smith of Exeter, Deb Davis of Exeter, and Joanne Bisson of Kittery, Maine. Duggan and Smith volunteered over 300 hours each.
