PROJECT EMPOWER Second Generation Seeks Sponsors to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Opened in 1993, Second Generation now generates 10% of New Generation Shelter’s annual operating budget by reselling community donations of clothing, furniture, and household goods. Second Generation hopes to engage corporations in community recycling, while creating awareness of the shelter program in the seacoast. The success story in Greenland led New Generation to open a second thrift shoppe at 25 Old Dover Road in Rochester one year ago. “By becoming a sponsor, corporations can help New Generation to sustain itself while helping homeless families, and the environment,” said Toni Trotzer, Executive Director. Lamprey Brothers offers energy efficient heating, cooling and indoor air quality solutions as well as alternative energy solutions such as solar and geothermal. Project Empower sponsorships are available from the $250 Community Partner, $500 Recycling Partner, and $1,000 to $5,000 Investor levels. Nike Bauer was the first Platinum Investor of the program. Incentives for Project Empower sponsorship include advertising on Route 33, permanent in-store signage, website links, media announcements, and more.
