Help Wanted Executive Director/Shelter Program Director
New Generation, Inc., a shelter for homeless pregnant women and mothers of young children, invites applications for the position of Executive Director/Shelter Program Director.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director/ Shelter Program Director works closely with members of the board, New Generation staff and volunteers, and community agencies in the seacoast and in the state to provide shelter, education, and programming in support of homeless pregnant women, mothers and children in order to foster a new generation of healthy,
self-sufficient, fully functioning and happy families.
As Executive Director, the incumbent is responsible for the ongoing management of the New Generation shelter, daycare, thrift shoppes, transitional apartments, and aftercare program -- supervising staff and establishing policies and procedures for each area. As Shelter Program Director, he/she is responsible for the intake process, counseling, and individual case management of each resident
at New Generation, utilizing the resources of staff and volunteers as necessary to develop, implement and update individual case management plans for each resident.
The board of directors seek an experienced non-profit administrator and counselor with proven success in budgeting, personnel and resource management and a demonstrated commitment to social service. Required qualifications include a degree in counseling or social work, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include experience as a non-profit administrator, fundraising and volunteer management experience,
and demonstrated involvement with community service organizations and agencies in the area. The successful candidate will have exemplary interpersonal and communication abilities; a team-oriented leadership style; the highest level of integrity; a sense of humor; and a strong commitment to pregnant women and mothers of young children in crisis. Salary will be commensurate with background and experience.
